Silica Dust Testing Statement

To confirm compliance with OSHA’s Respirable Crystalline Silica Standard rules, Amerimix hired an independent third party to perform exposure testing during eight-hour shifts at three separate job sites.

The testing concluded that workers’ average exposure to both dust and silica were below the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) defined by OSHA.

  • Dust:  Average exposure to dust was measured at 0.81 mg/m3 – well below the limit of 5.0 mg/m3.
  • Crystalline Silica: Average exposure to dust was measured at 10.3 μg/m3– also well below the limit of 50 μg/m3.

Though dust and silica levels were deemed safe, Amerimix recommends that all employees exposed to respirable dust or silica wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by OSHA.
